Online Marketing for Dummies

You Don’t Have to be a Genius to Master It

I know everybody is talking about it, I know it is fashionable and some say you can’t survive no longer without it on the market. We all agree on that. Problems arise when we sit down and start doing it. Do we really know what and why? The fact that you have been doing it successfully until now offline, doesn’t mean you can do it online. O, no. This is spam. Offline messages can be chaotic and mass oriented in order to get across to more people. Online don’t need it, they will reach you anyway and they better have something good to say.

Me, myself, I am not an expert, you can see. Otherwise I would have sold you a book already.

But I know some real experts and I like the way they do it. Coppyblogger is a tutorial selling blog that offers a very user-friendly ‘four pillars of online marketing success’ concept.

Here they are, short and precise. Please read if you a) have a blog; b) have a website; c) write for a blog; d) are an online marketer; e) are not interested in lame “get rich quick” schemes, or you are my only one blog fan.

Pillar 1: Relationships

Remember what your mother was telling you: it is not about who you are, but who knows you. If you want to be loved you have to give a lot, every day, to build trust and give support. Grow your own community of consumers and they will get back to you with the powerful effect of their word of mouth.

Pillar 2: Direct response copywriting

What they mean here is that generally speaking traditional copywriting technique works amazingly well in social media. If you don’t know what the traditional copywriting techniques are, it is ok. But if you want to run business website, pay special attentions to headlines and other action thriving content. This would mean that by now I would have sold you the book and you would feel grateful about it.

Pillar 3: Content marketing

This is my favorite. If you are a student and you have a blog, you can write about your dog or love trills. If you are a company or a online marketer, please deliver great content. And then do it again every day in focused and planned way and they will love you.

Pillar 4: Have something worth selling

Since I have nothing worth buying to offer you, thank you for reading so far.

If you manage to bring all the four pillars together, build a strong community toward your brand, generate interesting content everyday and motivate sells with it, please let me know how.
